Composition - Making a Memory Book (Week 38)

K: Remember the memories of our childhood. U: Understand the structure of a summary. D: Create a memory book about our childhood. Words of the Day 1. Summary 2. Childhood Let's Begin! Now that you have gone through your Primary level, how do you feel? Anxious? Relieved? Excited? Time to go down the memory lane! Task 1 Using applications from a device or physical art materials, create a memory book that consists of your kindergartener life to your Year 6 life!   This is due next Monday (4/8). Please refer to the checklist in order to make a very creative memory book that says 'YOU'. Checklist 1. Cover page - Make it interesting, colourful, and something that says, "This is me, y'all!" 2. K: Identify the correct punctuations and grammar. U: Expect the next scenes through if clauses. D: Write a continuation of a story. Words of the Day 1. If clause 2. Obliterated Let's begin! When writing a story continuation, take note of these tips: 1. What tense is it using? 2. What point of view are they using? 3. What is the genre of the story? Task 1 Refer to page 96 in your workbook. Write today's day and date and answer questions 1-2 with a pen. You have 10 minutes to do this task. Task 2 Refer to page 97 in your workbook. Answer questions 3-4 with a pen. You have 20 minutes to do this task. Task 3 After fixing the passage from task 1, continue the story from where it is left off. You are to write your continuation essay either in a test pad or Composition book. You have 30 minutes sharp to finish this task. Extra 5 minutes are given to write a draft.

Do you remember what a homophone is? Task 1 Refer to page 132 in your workbook. Answer questions 1 and 2. Use a pen to answer. You need to list down 2 more homophones for each category. You have 30 minutes to answer. Task 2 Refer to page 132 and use a device to find other homophones. You have 15 minutes to answer. Task 3 Refer to page 134 and use a device to find the meaning of each word. You have 15 minutes for this task.

Do you remember poetic license? Poetic license is  the freedom to depart from the facts of a matter or from the conventional rules of language when speaking or writing in order to create an effect. Task 1 Prepare your workbook and write today's day and date. Refer to pages 129-130. Answer questions 1 to 2d. Use a pen to write your answers. You have 20 minutes to read the poem and answer the questions. Task 2 Refer to page 130-131. Using your device, research and find out 4 more poems. Use the table to below and list down its criteria. Use a pen to write your answer. You have 30 minutes to conduct your research and write your answers.

Spelling Set 5: Said (Monday; 13/6)

K: Know the spelling words and dictation of Set 5. U: Understand the definition of Set 5 words. D: Create a sentence and dictated continuation of Set 5. Words of the Day 1. Mute 2. Said Let's Begin! Task 1 Listen to Ms Farah's pronunciation carefully and write the words in your S&D book.  Remember which word needs to be capitalized and which does not. Some are only 1 word while others have more than 1 word. The word will be repeated twice so please listen carefully. The dictated phrase is repeated 3 times. Ms Farah will not recite the punctuation nor the capitalization. Once done, just show a thumbs up for 3 seconds then wait patiently for the next phrase. Task 2 Using a dictionary, find and write the formal definition of each word.  Write the definitions in your Grammar/S&D book. You have 20 minutes to find and write the words. Chronological A biography. Do you remember what it is? Task 1 Please use your workbook and refer to page 44. Write today's day and date on said book. You are to use a pen for your work. You have 20 minutes to finish this task. Task 2 Refer to page 45 and write your draft. Focus on their training and career, and their achievements. You have 5 minutes to do this task. Task 3 Using the draft from your workbook, write a biography about Amelia Earhart or any adult in your school/community. Focus their biography on their achievements.  Write your biography in your Composition book or test pad. Your essay should be about 300-350 words. You have exactly 30 minutes sharp to finish this essay.
