Assessment - Debate (Monday; 27/5) (Tuesday; 28/5)

K:Know the content we are presenting. U: Understand the opponents' points to rebut. D: Present a proper debate. Let's Begin! Task 1 Ensure that your tables are arranged in a way just like the photo below: Other chairs and tables are placed in front of the panel members and spokesperson. Audiences are to sit on the chair facing the debate. Ms Farah will be the spokesperson and timer. The audience will be the judges. If there is a tie, Ms Farah will be the tiebreaker.  All the best!

Composition - Kidzania Excursion Prep (Monday; 20/5) (Tuesday; 21/5)

K: Plan out the trip. U: Understand the format of a fictional essay. D: Write a realistic fiction essay.   Words of the Day 1. Zany 2. Excitement     Task 1 Please write your name in the Kidzania worksheet and staple the sheets. Then, answer the 3 simple questions on page 2.    Task 2 Using a test pad and a black/blue pen, write a realistic fiction. Please refer to the checklist. Your essay should be 250 - 300 words long.

K: Know the checklist needed for the debate. U: Understand the criteria of a good speaker. D: Prepare for the debate assessment. Words of the Day 1. Debate 2. Teamwork Let's begin! In your panel, discuss and prepare yourselves for the debate. You may use your device to find further information. Task 1 Please refer to the checklist below when preparing for the debate: 1. I have enough information and evidence to make my topic more convincing. 2. I have written my notes in a cue card/test pad/exercise book. 3. I have googled and discussed some tricky questions that my opponents will ask me. 4. I have practiced my presentation to make my voice loud and clear.  5. I have timed myself to present between 2-5 minutes. 6. My panel has prepared 2 questions to ask our opponents. 7. I contributed with my panel by showing great teamwork. Keep in mind that the assessment is 25 marks. Content and Rebuttal - 8M Able to deliver detailed information and rebuttal against the opponent's reasons.

K: Know how to find proper information. U: Understand the topic we are researching. D: Write a persuasive essay of our debate topic. Words of the Day 1. Research 2. Facts Let's Begin! Prepare your device and test pad. Write your name, day, and date in your test pad by using a black/blue pen. Task 1 Using your debate topic, find information by using your device and write down your draft in a test pad or any digital notepad (Google Doc).   Do not start your essay yet. Focus only on the drafting part. You have 20 minutes to find proper and legitimate information. Task 2 Using a test pad, write a persuasive essay about your debate topic by using a black/blue pen. Your essay should be around 250 to 300 words. Don't forget to write the word count at the end of your essay. While writing your essay, you can use your device to continue your research, check your spelling, find better grammatical words for your work, or the like. You have 30 minutes to write your essay.

Spelling & Dictation - Happiness (Monday; 13/5) (Tuesday; 14/5)

K: Know how to spell Set 2 words. U: Understand the definition of Set 2 words. D: Write a sentence using Set 2 words. Let's begin! Task 1 (Spelling) While the spelling is in place, ensure that you are on Voice Level 0 which means no talking. Once you are done with the spelling, just show a thumbs-up for 3 seconds and wait patiently for the next word. For every error, you must rewrite it 3 times after we've checked. Task 2 (Definition) Using a dictionary or your device, write the formal definition for each word.   Even if you know the word, you must write down the definition from a dictionary. You have 20 minutes for this task. Task 3 (Sentence Creation) Create a sentence for each of the Set 2 words. Ensure that your sentence is at least 5 words long.  Be creative with your sentences! You have 20 minutes for this task.

Task 1 Using a pen, write the Set 1 words in your Grammar book. Wait for Ms Farah's instructions. Once you've spelled it, give a thumbs-up for 3 seconds and wait. When we mark, please write the correction 5 times.   Task 2 Using a dictionary, write the definition of each word.   Task 3 Write a sentence for each word. Be creative in your sentences and it should be at least 5 words long.
