Commas

While a period ends a sentence, a comma indicates a smaller break. Some writers think of a comma as a soft pause—a punctuation mark that separates words, clauses, or ideas within a sentence.

Examples:

1. Despite the stomachache he is having right now, Harvish still wants to eat the slice of cake that is in front of him.

2. "I would love to go, but I don't want to," Aaron said bluntly.

3. Since Priyanka saved up all her allowance money, she could now buy that favourite doll she had an eye on.
