Hilda's New Pet

Remember your previous homework where you are required to continue this passage?

Today was the happiest day of Hilda's life. During breakfast, her parents told her that she would be getting a pet of her own! Hilda had always wanted a pet. She proved how responsible she was by doing her chores and taking care of her school hamster last weekend. And now, thanks to her hard work, all would be rewarded.

The sound of the doorbell shook her away from her thoughts. "I'll get it!" she responded. Excited to see the type of animal she would take care of, Hilda ran towards the front door...

Now you are going to rewrite again, making a second continuation. But this time, you need to write the second version following a specific criteria. Your word count in your second version must be 200-250 words.

Checklist

A) Has the 3 plot sequences

    - Introduction (1 paragraph) (DONE)

    - Climax (3-4 paragraphs)

    - Ending (1 paragraph)

B) Has at least 5 dialogues. Example: "What kind of animal is this?!" Hilda screamed in shock.

C) Uses all the 3 POV pronouns.

D) Has 2 similes and 2 metaphors.

3) Has at least 3 adverbs.

Underline the criteria in your second version.

Write your continuation in your Composition book. Show the work to Ms Farah before class ends.

All the best!

Excited to see the type of animal she would take care of, Hilda ran towards the front door and opened it. She was shocked to see a pet cat that she always wanted. Black, white cat and a small house-cat that was all she wanted in her life. She picked up the cat and raised it up into the air and said "I will name you Lily." The cat meowed softy agreeing with her. Hilda saw her parents there smiling and then Hilda ran to her parents and hugged them saying "I love you! " and her parents said "i love you too."

One morning while Hilda was reading her book and stroking her cat softly in her room, she heard a scream coming from downstairs and she quickly hurried down and saw her mom screaming "THERE'S A RAT HELP! THERE'S A RAT!" Hilda also saw her dad trying to catch the rat but was too fast. Suddenly her cat pounced onto the rat and bit it. The rat died and everybody cheered and said 'LILY IS A HERO!" then Lily got 5 fishes for her breakfast.

Every evening Hilda walked her cat at 6:45 pm but one day it rained heavily so Hilda couldn't walk her cat. That evening while everybody was sleeping Hilda's cat secretly walked out of Hilda's room. Then in the morning Hilda tried finding her cat and was very worried then she and her family made posters of the cat one of the passers by saw the poster and called Hilda's family. Hilda's family answered the phone and was happy to hear that the passer by has saw the cat. Hilda's family quickly hurried to where the passer by had last seen the cat. And it wasn't there, we scurried everywhere we could look. Hilda heard a loud meow and quickly ran to the place she heard the meow. She found Lily stuck in a deep pit and was hurt she called a parents and thy came they picked lily up and went to the vet.
