1b. The characters are going to space. They are taking books like 'A Dictionary of Intermediate Technology' and 'The Oxford Complete Shakespeare'. They are also probably bringing light stuff like musical instruments and photos.
1c. There are two clues. The first clue is 'The Oxford Complete Shakespeare' since the book was published in 1891. The second clue is the photo that was easily ruined. It might be a really old photo with materials that couldn't protect it from open light and cold.
1d. There is a slide projector which is the only technology in the passage. There is also the book 'A Dictionary of Intermediate Technology'.
1e. Father's picture looks wrong because it got exposed to open light and cold for a long time without proper protection.
1f. The characters are a father with three kids. There isn't a mother. They all feel excited, disturbed, and the children doesn't understand much about what is happening.
1g. If it was me, I would feel nervous and excited. I would probably feel more nervous, though. (You can give your own answers)
