Refer to page 156 in your learner book. Prepare a test pad or Composition book.

Task 1

Refer to page 156 in your learner book. Write today's day and date in your testpad or Composition book.


You will be paired up in groups of 3. Your objective for today is to write a persuasive essay about your assigned topic. Your essay has to be between 200-250 words. Even though it is a group work, you must prepare your individual essay. 


Task 2

Refer to page 157 in your learner book. After the essay, you must prepare notes/scripts in order for them to present this week:

Autumnus - Thursday (28/4)

Aestas - Thursday (28/4)

Ver - Thursday (28/4) & Friday (29/4)

Hiems - Thursday (28/4) & Friday (29/4)




Steps for the Debate

1. Students will be in groups of 3. A coin will be flipped to see which team (proposition or opposition) goes first.

2. First speaker of Panel 1 will start first. They will introduce the topic and give their first reason/topic sentence.

3. First speaker of Panel 2 will start next. They will introduce the topic and give their first reason/topic sentence.

4. Second speaker of Panel 1 will start next. They will give their second reason/topic sentence.

5. Second speaker of Panel 2 will start next. They will give their second reason/topic sentence.

6. Third speaker of Panel 1 will start last. They will give their third reason/topic sentence and conclusion.

7. Third speaker of Panel 2 will start last. They will give their third reason/topic sentence and conclusion.

8. Each person will have 2 minutes to present their topic. A timer will ring to keep track.

9. Each team will only have 1 chance to ask a question and any member can counter the question. Make sure the question is genuine and does not have the intention to shame the opponents.

10. After the debate is over, a vote will happen among the audience to identify the winners.
