Please refer to page 17 in your learner's book. Prepare your Grammar book and write today's day and date.
You are to write down the functions of short sentence and long sentence.
Short sentence:
1. To create tension.
2. To grab attention of reader to some details.
3. To present sudden events.
4. To summarize ideas.
Long sentence:
1. To develop tension.
2. To get vivid descriptions.
3. To investigate an argument, idea, or fact thoroughly.
Italics have 3 purposes:
1. To show a character's thoughts.
2. To imply it's a note or letter.
3. To emphasize.
Task 1
In your Grammar book, write only your answers for Set 1.
Discuss with your fellow partner or groupmates in order to find the answers. Your answers may be similar or different depending on the discussion. Refer to pages 12 and 13 of the East prologue to find your answers.
You have 30 minutes to discuss and write your answers.
Homework
Do 1.2 and 1.3 in your workbook, pages 10 to 14.
With the exception of the word search, answer all the questions given with a pen. Don't forget to write the day and date before your start your homework.
