What are passive verbs?

Passive verbs have specific formula: helping verb + past participle.

What are helping verbs?

is/are/am/was/were/has/had/have/will be

Remember: for a passive verb to work, you need that specific formula. For example: was taken, have drunk, is bought.

Main clause - A complete sentence that can stand on its own.

Subordinate clause - An incomplete sentence that cannot stand on its own. Also known as if clause.

If there's a conditional clause, it is a complex sentence.

Compound sentence? Main clause + main clause combined with FANBOYS.
