What is a balanced report?
1. An essay that discusses all points of view of a particular story and then leaves it to the readers to make up their minds.
2. Has balanced arguments. For example, if there is 1 pro/support, there is 1 con/against.
3. Has a title and uses 3rd POV. Do not use personal pronouns like 'I'. Sometimes can use 'we'.
4. Uses connectives. Use different connectives.
5. Topic sentence (TS) identifies the main idea of a paragraph. It is always the start of the paragraph.
6. Essay structure is usually introduction (paragraph 1), TS 1 (paragraph 2), TS 2 (paragraph 3), and conclusion (paragraph 4).
