1. What new habit could you adopt to positively contribute towards a greener Commonwealth?
Text type - Non-fiction (Persuasive text or informative text)
Viewpoint - 1st POV
Tense - Mixture of past, present, & future
Greener Commonwealth means a world full of nature; a world that is not contaminated or polluted. What can you do to help make the world a better place?
Example - Recycling. Reusing things like a tote bag instead of a plastic bag. Eat less meat.
2. Write yourself between you and a grandparent about resilience and hope. What can you share with the older generation, and what can you learn from them?
Text type - Fiction (Playscript or realistic fiction)
Viewpoint - 1st POV (either the grandchild's or grandparent's POV) or 3rd POV
Tense - Past or present tense
The setting should be in one setting (at home, in the park, etc.). The characters are only grandchild and grandparent. Need to have some moral values.
Example - Voice out when something is not right. Keep track of world news. Discuss in a civilized manner when there's clash of opinions.
3. You are taking part in a beach clean-up and discover that you can speak to sea creatures. What are they saying, and how do you respond?
Text type - Fiction (fantasy fiction)
Viewpoint - 1st POV (the human's POV) or 3rd POV
Tense - Past or present tense
The setting is at the beach. Introduction is you cleaning the beach and finding the sea creature? What animal is it?
Example - Are they suffering because of pollution? Are they in trouble because of over-hunting? How do you respond to a talking animal?
4. You're on a school exchange program in a Commonwealth country different to your own. How do you make friends with people your age? Consider the similarities and differences in culture that may unite you.
Text type - Non-fiction (school report) or fiction (realistic fiction)
Viewpoint - 1st POV
Tense - Past or present tense
If report, use the inverted triangle strategy. If story, the setting should be in school.
