There are 5 types of adverbs:

 

1. Adverbs of manner - How the action is done?

Example - Quickly, promptly, clearly, slowly, gradually

 

2. Adverbs of time - When is the action done?

Example - Now, soon, today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, next month, recently, forever

 

3. Adverbs of place - Where is the action done?

Example - Somewhere, anywhere, nowhere, here, outside, inside, wherever, elsewhere, left, right, north, east, south, west

 

4. Adverbs of frequency - How often is the action done?

Example - Seldom, rarely, never, often, weekly, monthly, yearly, annually, usually, sometimes, occasionally, constantly, frequently

 

5. Adverbs of degree - How intense is the action done?

Example - Very, too, extremely, much, more, most, little, less, incredibly, totally, greatly, hardly, deeply, barely
