Let's Begin!
What are the key rules of a good presentation?
Let's watch this video and find out!
Features of a Good Presentation
1. Have a good hook
Start the opening with an interesting sentence like, "Have you ever wished lunch was 2 hours instead? Me too."
2. Introduce yourself
Make sure to say 'Hello' or 'Good day' to the audience especially if there are specific people in the group like teachers or parents. Say your name!
3. Keep it simple
Focus on the main points. Then talk about it in a few sentences.
4. Smile!
Make sure you look cheerful and happy.
5. Eye-contact
Look at the audience around you. Nervous? Move your eyes around and stay a bit longer by looking at the people you're comfortable with.
6. Voice loud and clear!
Don't mumble. Don't speak too fast.
7. Body language
Move your arms and body. Move your legs to the side but don't move too much!
9. Relax, breathe, and enjoy
Take deep breaths if you start to get nervous. Pause between your words to remember what you're trying to say.
Here's another tip of being a good speaker!
Task Time
In mini groups, you will each present in a way depending on the topic.
You will be divided into groups: Speaker, Presenter, and Entertainer.
Task 1
In groups, think and write down two true things about you and one fake thing about you. Then, in 3 minutes, you need to present yourself and the audience need to figure out the 2 truths and 1 lie about you.
Task 2
In groups, take 5 minutes to thin about a random object you see in the class. Then, present the object to the audience for 3 minutes.
Task 3
In groups, plan and write some questions to ask your friends later. Then, for 3 minutes, you need to answer your friends questions without saying yes and no.
If you accidentally replied by saying yes/no, you have to sit down for the next classmate.
