Turn to page 159 of your learner's book. Write the day and date in your learner's book too.

Do you know what a news report is?

What is the difference between news and an advertisement?

Task 1

Use the 5W1H method to remember an interesting part of your life. Write down short notes in your learner's book.

Next, with a partner, talk to them about the personal account of your life. Talk to them by using the News Triangle.

Start with the 5W1H. Then, continue by talking about some less important details but you feel like you should share. And lastly, conclude your verbal report.

You have 20 minutes for this task.

For example, this is how Ms Farah would talk to Ms Yen about a personal account of her life: 

 

5W1H (Important details)

I remember when I got my first Gameboy Color. When I was 8, my dad gave me a purple Gameboy Color. He gave it to me because it was for my birthday. My mom also bought me Pokemon Blue. I was in Malaysia when I got it. My parents told me that they worked hard to buy me one so I can do better in my exams.

 

(Less important details)

I played the game almost every night. But then, my parents told me that I can only play it during the weekends. I almost finished Pokemon Blue for almost a year.

 

(Conclusion)

I was so happy to get my first Gameboy.
