Let's Begin!
Do you remember your science report? Let's finish it! Yay!
Task 1
Remember the IMRAD method when writing your essay:
1. Do I have my purpose and prediction in the introduction?
2. Do I have the summarized steps of the experiment?
3. Do I have the results of my experiment?
4. Do I have the prediction of my experiment because of the results?
5. Do I have my conclusion?
Task 2
When you write, remember to make a mixture of simple, compound, and complex sentences. But most of all, remember to put a comma (,) when you start a sentence with a subordinate clause!
Here are some tips to use when you write your essay.
When you start a paragraph:
1. Use paragraphs starters like: Once this experiment was done, / As a result of this experiment, / With this observation,
When you want to continue your paragraphs with different sentences:
1. Use adverbials like: Afterwards, / Finally, / As students observed the experiment,
2. Use pronouns to replace nouns and avoid repetition.
3. Stuck? Try having one simple sentence, one compound sentence, and one complex sentence in your paragraph.
