Let's Begin!

Do you know the difference between a chronological report and a non-chronological report?

Chronological report is a report that’s structured in time order.

Examples of chronological reports:

1. Newspaper articles

2. Event reports (Sport's Day, Show Day)

3. Historical reports

Task 1

Let's write down notes about the features of a chronological report! Remember to check your spelling and grammar. (Psst, you can decorate your work, by the way!)

Features of a chronological report:

1. Purpose - Why am I writing this? To inform a lost EVS project? To write about the day during Junior Games Carnival?

2. Audience - Am I writing for kids my age? Or someone older like teachers and parents?

3. Tone - Must be formal language. I can use informal if it's for an interview.

4. Tense - Mostly past tense because the event has happened.

5. Subheading - Each new topic sentence has a subheading to summarize the topic.

Task 2

In a given worksheet, write a simplified newspaper article about an interesting event. Ensure that you have:

Title - Short interesting title

Introduction - Have an interesting sentence opener. Can have rhetorical question.

Topic sentences - Each new topic sentence has subheading. Be in order for time events.

Conclusion - Can have future plans. Can also have recommendations.
