K: Know the main idea of a chronological report.
U: Understand the features of a chronological report.
D: Write notes focusing on a chronological report.
Words of the Day
1. Chronology
2. Irrefutable
Let's Begin!
Do you know the difference between a chronological report and a non-chronological report?
Chronological report is a report that’s structured in time order.
Examples of chronological reports:
1. Newspaper articles
2. Event reports (Sport's Day, Show Day)
3. Historical reports
Task 1
Let's write down notes about the features of a chronological report! Remember to check your spelling and grammar. (Psst, you can decorate your work, by the way!)
Features of a chronological report:
1. Purpose - Why am I writing this? To inform a lost EVS project? To write about the day during Junior Games Carnival?
2. Audience - Am I writing for kids my age? Or someone older like teachers and parents?
3. Tone - Must be formal language. I can use informal if it's for an interview.
4. Tense - Mostly past tense because the event has happened.
5. Subheading - Each new topic sentence has a subheading to summarize the topic.
Task 2
In a given worksheet, write a simplified newspaper article about a past school event. Ensure that you have:
Title - Short interesting title
Introduction - Have an interesting sentence opener. Can have rhetorical question. Use 5W1H (Where was the place? What time did it start?)
Topic sentences - Each new topic sentence has subheading. Be in order for time events. (What started in the mornings? What was the most important thing that happened that day?)
Conclusion - Can have future plans. Can also have recommendations.
Since there's lack of space, no need to skip one line for new paragraph BUT have finger spacing for each new paragraph.
You have 30 minutes for this task.
