Let's Begin!

Take out your Composition book. Do you remember the introduction of your letter that you did last week? Now, let's look at how to finish the body.

  • Write the title on the left side after "Dear...' 
  • Be concise and relevant: Stick to the core purpose.
  • Avoid informal language: Maintain a formal, respectful tone.
  • Aim for three or four paragraphs: Each paragraph should have a clear aim.  
  •  

    Formal close-off:

  • Use "Yours sincerely" if you know the recipient's name.
  • Use "Yours faithfully" if you do not. 
  •  

    Task 1

    Now that you've written your introduction, time to finish off your formal letter.
