Spelling - Set 'Term 3' (Friday; 16/5)

K: Know how to spell Term 3 Set words. U: Understand the definition of the words. D: Create a sentence for each word.   Let's Begin! Before we begin, write the day and date in your English notebook. Next, write Set 2 on the first line of the page. List down 10 words. Task 1 Ms Farah will say the word twice and use it in a sentence. Please be at Voice Level 0 and how a thumbs-up for 3 seconds once you're done writing the word.   Task 2 In a group, work together to find the meaning of each word. Please use a dictionary or an I-pad. Make sure to write the formal definition.   Task 3 As a pair, create a sentence for each word. The sentence has to be at least 5 words long and different for each partner.

How is your Commonwealth Essay update?  Please login to your Google Classroom.   Task 1 At the top of your Google Doc, ensure you write your name, question number, and question: Then, give one line spacing and start writing your essay!   Task 2 Do you remember how to write your introduction? Before you write any essay, press the 'tab' button. This will become your indent (finger-spacing). Task 3 Do you remember the 3-plot mountain? Time to write the climax of the story!    Now, if you want to use the 5-plot mountain, that's okay too! It'll make the story longer.   Task 4 It's time to write the ending Do you remember the dialogue rule? Different person, different paragraph.

On page 155 in your workbook, write the day and date. Don't forget to write the words of the day! Do you remember past and present tenses? Now, what is a verb to be?  Write down the information above in your workbook. You have 15 minutes for this.    In short, to be verbs like 'am, is, are' are used when using '-ing' verbs. For example: I walk to the store. = I am walking to the store. I walked to the store. = I was walking to the store. What is the difference?   Answer: The to be verb need to change to its correct tense! 'am, is, are' are for present tense verbs. 'was, were' are for past tense verbs.
